Last Spring Holiday me and my husband went to USJ, I am looking forward to this trip for the longest time ever and I was really excited about it. I downloaded a map (kinda difficult to read because it is all Japanese!) for us not to get lost! We actually had to ride four trains from my place just to get there.. Other routes are a little bit confusing so we decided to take the long cut.
We arrived there around 10 in the morning. It was Saturday, so we’re expecting a huge crowd that day besides, it was a special day because there will be a starlight parade at night. When we got off the train and stepped into Osaka Citywalk (located before reaching the USJ entrance), I was amazed.. it is an exact replica of the Universal Studios in US (I saw it only in pictures though) there is a hardrock station.. lots of restaurants, there’s this huge globe that constantly rotates with the sign that says UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.
After getting our one-day pass we’re off to our adventure. We first rode the HOLLYWOOD DREAM, which is like a roller coaster with no loops. It was an adrenaline pumping ride and I really enjoyed the thrill that I felt while I was on it. Because it’s a holiday, minimum waiting time for a ride is one hour.. totally exhausting.. The SPIDER-MAN ride was also a blast, it’s a 3D theater but the effects were cool.. you can feel the water sprinkled on your face by Dr. Octopus or the heat emitted by the glider of the Goblin…really amazing. Our JAWS adventure was also cool, we traveled around the river in a boat and were being chased by this shark.. our guide has a rifle so she shoots down the shark, sort of a reenactment in the movie.. there was even an explosion as a finale.. really worth the wait. Our last amusement stop for the day was SESAME STREET 4D theater,it was also good (except that Big bird, Ernie and the rest of the gang are speaking Japanese! Haha!) the characters like jump out of the screen and stops and dances right in front of you. There were also shows ongoing on the streets of USJ, the Peter Pan act which was held on a lake inside the park with the ship of Capt. Hook.. There was also street dancing with the Sesame street mascots. And the highlight of the day was the STARLIGHT PARADE, which was held around 8 in the evening. All the lights on the streets went out to make way for the parade. The floats were covered with shimmering lights together with some famous characters, it was really fun watching it. Before we went home we took our time to take pictures around USJ. Really an unforgettable experience for me
