Last May 21st, our company (MTS) president Mr. Nagao paid us a visit here in Takasago, Japan. The scary Swine flu has infected some people near our area so we had to wear mask everyday but this didn’t stop him from visiting. His purpose is to meet with the different Japanese group leaders, promoting our company and encouraging them to expand the job opportunities for MTS. He also wanted to have a talk to us and personally check our living conditions here in Japan. We really appreciate his efforts because we can really see his drive and eagerness to make our company more productive and at the same time, cater the needs of the employees. We first discussed our problems and our working and living conditions here. Since ICT (Intra-Company Transferee) visas are still new to our company, they are still continuing to revise and perfect its terms and conditions, so it’s one of the main points in the discussion. After the meeting, we went to the turbine assembly section of MHI. We had to wear protective suits like helmets, gloves, masks, jackets as company SOP. There was a Japanese tour guide with us explaining the process and functions of the assembly, it’s really very educational. After office, Mr. Nagao invited us for dinner at the Takasago club just outside MHI. It’s a Japanese restaurant so most of the food served are raw.. (not really a fan of raw!) though there are others like chicken karage (fried chicken), salad, crabs, sausages etc so we still enjoyed it all in all.
